This year in sports!

For me the year of sports starts in September and ends in June. It all starts with Football, the greatest of all sports, then in October you get to watch the world series (the only baseball worth watching). Football, both college and pros go into January. The NBA starts to take full swing in February and goes until June. Throw in March Madness and you have a full load of sports to watch. This year has been one to remember. Here are the highlights.

Pro Football (my favorite!): The league is cracking down on Athlete's behavior off the field, leaving 4 NFL players without a job for all of last year and only 1 of those four have any prospect of getting his career back (Pacman Jones). The competition was fierce, in the AFC that is. The NFC was weak as usual, with the only real strength was the late blooming seahawks who crumbled in the playoffs due to the pansy Sean Alexander. The other NFC surprise was the Vikings, Adrian Peterson took the league by storm setting a new single game rushing record.

The real news was the God like Patriots. They went undefeated in the regular season, rolled over all of their playoff opponents, and then LOST to the giants in the superbowl. To hear of this, you might think that the Patriots would be somewhat proud of the year, but their season has now been tarnished due to their cheating head coach. Their perfect regular season will forever and always have an asterik* (I hate the patriots).

My prediction for next year in the NFL: Patriots, Colts, and Chargers all make a push. They get cocky and you end up with a Vikings vs. Jaguars Superbowl (with the Jaguars beating the Browns in the AFC championship game).

NCAA (football): No complaining about the BSC this year. Michigan was HORRIBLE losing to Appalachian State. LSU was the best team in the country and proved it! The draft year was pretty weak overall.

NCAA (basketball): Who doesn't love March Madness? Memphis is turning into a power. Duke played better this year, but still they are showing coach K's weakness. UNC was the expected winner, but lost to Kansas. I predict that UNC will take it next year, they have all of their players returning.

Baseball: The red sox brought some pride to the Boston area, just to have is crushed by the loser and cheating patriots.

NBA: This year was historic. Never has the league been so competitive, one night of play towards the end of this last season changed 6 of the 8 playoff seeds in the western conference. We were blessed with an epic NBA finals, The Lakers and the Celtics. The Celtics ending up embarrassing the Lakers in a Game 6 blowout. Now that the Celtics and Red Sox have won, it brings the Boston area back to snuff with the patriots mess up.

Prediction: Kobe will win another MVP, but not a championship yet. The Celtics great defense will get picked apart in the off season and I predict that they will lose the season series against the KNICKS. They will make it far in the playoffs, but I am calling either the Pistons or the Magic to take the East. This all depends on what the Pistons do with their roster. In the west. It is either the Jazz or the Hornets. This all depends on what the Jazz do in the draft, will they get a Arvidas Osterbonus, or a real center.

The Olympics will get their own blog, along with my rantings and ravings about Kobe Bryant.
