Cultured

Two blogs at once! Outrageous! This one is based off of a short conversation that Kelly and I had tonight.

Kelly and I are both cultured, just in very different ways.

Kelly loves music, and when I say music I mean...just music. The only thing she listens to with lyrics is Josh Groban. She knows a ton of classic composers specific works and can tell you all the ins and outs of how it works. Music is a huge driving force in her life.

Kelly was home schooled and she is very observant to small life situations, she pays close attention to the things I say, to what we do each day, to the kids in the nursery, to the choir, but mostly to her feelings. She is the most kind and caring person I know. I am very lucky.

I am very different. Kelly is completely happy living in a very small world, I on the other hand am not. I am an information addict, I love to learn and can never watch enough documentaries, or "how to" videos. If I have a question about science, or history, or in the scriptures I will look it up and I will enjoy it.

On my web browser I have a number of windows open 24/7, CNN, ESPN, Both Fantasy Teams pages, and my email. Our computer was down for one day this last week and I felt out of touch. I dislike music that has no lyrics. I enjoy lyrics that tell it like it is. Genres of music that paint a seemingly false sense of reality bother me. Books, music, art, and movies are always better when you understand where they come from. Likewise these forms of entertainment are best when they leave you with a deep and seemingly unanswerable question (Kelly hates those). I am a typical guy and have a tendency to ignore my emotions.

Either way you look at it both ways of being "cultured" are both good and bad. Luckily for Kelly and I we complement each other in this area. This is just more proof that opposites attract.
