Valentines 2009

Last year Kelly and I were able to go down to Salt Lake and splurge for a weekend. This year, considering Kelly's current condition (pregnancy), travel was out of the question. So Steve (my next door neighbor) and I cooked a six course meal for our wives. The following are photos of the six courses with a description and that star rating for how well liked it was (by me that is).

Course 1: French Onion Soup; covered with gruyere cheese and a sourdough crouton (4 stars)

Course 2 Pineapple Chile Gazpacho (2 1/2 stars)

Course 3: Walnut/Apple/Celery Salad with honey Dijon Vinaigrette (3 1/2 stars)
Course 4: Pork Ribs with a glazed pomegranate chili reduction (5 stars)
course 5: Pistachio/Cilantro pesto chicken breasts (4 stars)

Course 6: Chocolate Fondue with fruit. (3 stars)
Everytime I get to cook like this I consider switching my chosen career again, (don't worry Kelly, I won't switch again).

How sad!

This is the latest that I have been up in a long time. I have been watching a movie and working on my lesson for tomorrow. I goggled something on the Book of Mormon and found what I needed, yet at the same time I also found about a million anti websites at the same time. One website was just a website of testimonials of why people have left the church. I read a number of them, probably ten, and was amazed. I only found one that had a doctrinal reason. The rest were all social reasons like being treated poorly for being a democrat or for having sinned and the guilt they felt. As I read these reasons, none of them being valid, I just felt bad for these people. Not because they were bad people but because they were so angry. No human is perfect. Do not realize that these are experiences that everyone has at every church or school. I guess that I am mostly confused. We don't try to be jerks. I just wish that regardless of what people believed that we could live together without fear of things that we don't understand.
